Jacky’s Rootscorner #2

After traveling for a while, I’m hyped to return to Belgium and present to you the next Jacky’s Rootscorner. For this session I invited:

FAR EAST (FR)
Far East will come the 29th september to Jacky’s Rootscorner #2 with a special set. A producer show of 2h with many upcoming and unreleased tunes from his label I&I&I Music accompagnied by melodica live and vocal animations. All inspirated by Jah in the Zulu Warrior tradition. A session not to be missed !!!

Far East’s first got famous through his melodica tune “Blow Down Babylon”, he was one of many within his generation who grew up listening to reggae classics and going to reggae dances and gigs from which many renowned artists emerged in Europe.
In 2005 he started playing as a melodica soloist with one of the greatest french veteran sound systems: Zion Gate HIFI. Since then, he has been working as a solo artist and has worked in collaboration with many international labels such as Mellow Vibes and Roots Hitek (U.K) or Digital English (U.S.A).
Since 2006, he has also produced many french and foreign singers, musicians and mixers on his own labels (Digital Rockers and I&I&I Music).
We can see him performs regularly with his sidekick Ras Hassen Ti in their own set intituled « I&I&I Music Showcase ». A live sound system show alternating between vocals and melodica solos.
Ras Hassen Ti’s songs and Far East’s melodica music have been played for almost 20 years by the most famous sound systems and some pioneers artists such as Jah Shaka, Aba Ashanti I, Channel One, Iration Steppas, King Shiloh, Blackboard Jungle and O.B.F.

CREATIV DUBS SOUNDSYSTEM (BE)
A young collective founded in 2018 with two members Mosi and Tz’unun as selectors. Playing from a strictly vinyl selection and growing collection to home made productions. Over the years this crew grew, enforced by their young producer JAM. In 2021 they played for the first time on their own handbuild soundsystem. Slowly but surely, with a conscious mind and a loving heart, they expand their experiences in the soundsystemculture and their selection. Until today they keep upgrading their sound to spread real music with a message.

For this session they will play on a 4 scoop setup for the second time, after a first successful test in the AB in Brussels.

JUSTICE SOUND (BE)
Justice is a crew that’s sometimes overlooked and that’s a shame, because they have a history that needs to be mentioned. The sound originated in the early 2000s, around the same period as Public Steppas (now Kingstep). The crew was always independent and had their own way of doing things.
They traveled the UK many times to meet with sounds and producers like a.o. Roots Youths, King Alpha and Nomadix. Soon they established a reputation as selectors with deep boxes, playing roots and dubs in the roughest, uncompromising style and fashion.
‘Exclusive’ selection is not an empty word to them.

AGAYU (BE)
Agayu is a crew with a passion for Roots/Rock/Reggae/DUB music. Being in the scene for many years now, they collected a selection to make the dance go BOOM! From classic bangers to dubplates, Agayu will provide the people with a session full of musical upliftment.
