Young French producer currently residing in Barcelona (Spain), Matthieu Faubourg is a
deeply moving artist. Producing music at a very young age, Matthieu finally gets into
electronic production at 23, and started from scratch in it after exploring different worlds.
Mixing jazz, disco, house and garage touches, he has established himself over the years as
one of the emerging but essential figures on the French house scene. After a first release
on wax in 2017, Faubourg made its mark with its amazing deep hit : Please Stay. The title
played by huge names in the scene now has more than 3.8 million views on Youtube.
But Matthieu has never stopped working, and continues to produce original creations,
remixes and edits, a way of expressing and expressing his emotions in everyday life.
Varying the pleasures with club-oriented tracks like his edit of the famous Dj Dove – Illusions,
and other more personal work with his EP Scenario released on Pulse Msc, il poursuit son
travail exploratoire, en gardant sa touche synthétique qui lui est propre.
2018 was marked by several releases : a vitaminized piece, A Long Way, on Jazzy Couscous
french label based in Tokyo, an EP on Smile for a While with the excellent The Perfect Time,
and then the Parallel Lines EP on Neovinyl Recordings Carlo & Baldo imprint.
Concerned about having his own publication tool, Matthieu Faubourg launched Lust
Definition that year, his label with a first shocking EP featuring Slow Down, a melancholic
track dedicated to his father.
After the release of a split EP with Black Loops on Happiness Therapy at the beginning of
2019, Simplicity Is The Ultimate Sophistication, his debut album has just been released in
December on Jazzy Couscous. There’s a clarity to the ideas on this record, as Faubourg
moves through varying shades of energy, tempo and groove while maintaining a smooth,
cool-headed mood throughout. As well as 9 original tracks, the album also closes out with a
classy remix from Byron The Aquarius, who takes on opening track « Winter Will Be Long ».

Une pointe de Breakbeat, une note de funk et une bonne dose de groove complètent ce tableau bien coloré.

D’aussi loin qu’il s’en souvienne, Satprem est depuis toujours intéressé par l’art du mix dans les DJ set. Il considère ce médium comme un vecteur d’émancipation principal et l’art d’implanter en chacun un germe d’Amour à travers l’événement spectaculaire que forme le DJ Set.
Après avoir rejoins la Finca, il co-fonde Agapanthes avec Sarab pour répondre à cet Art du mix comme d’une expérience immersive, totale et phenomenale, cela par le prisme de la Footwork et de la juke mais aussi par d’autres styles souvent commun a l’underground.
